Create an Interactive Google Drawing
- Start with an image: Create a Google Drawing and insert an existing image, or create your own using shapes, images and text.
- Overlay a Shape: Insert a shape to cover the image and/or text that you want to link.
- Hyperlink the Shape: Add a hyperlink to a website or videoclip of your choosing to the shape that is covering the area of the image you selected.
- Make the Shape Transparent: Change the fill and border color of the overlaid shape to “Transparent” so that you can see the image and/or text beneath.
Sharing your Interactive Image
Interactive Google Drawings can be shared with a link or via Google Classroom as Google Drawing files. Alternatively, you can download them as PDF files which will retain the hyperlinks. NOTE: Google Drawing files saved as images (.png, .jpg) will not be interactive. Click on the image below to be directed to the interactive Google Drawing.
